Fantastic Ideas (always arrive just before I fall asleep)

When do your best ideas strike?

Does your mind work regular hours?  Can you convince it to be productive on the job, then leave you alone for a while?

Or do you hit your head on the toilet and dream up the Flux Capacitor?

I’m a raging insomniac, anyway – especially since my brain surgery – so I usually spend the late hours reading in bed.  Then, just before I fall asleep?  You guessed it ~~ I have creative super powers.

Yep, that's about the time my brain goes nuts...

My short fiction piece about a bank robbery – needs to be a series.
That other project in the drawer – needs more screwed up poetry.
The slavery story bouncing around in my giant noggin – should start on some incredibly high tower (no, I don’t understand why, either.  But I know it’s right)

How do I manage to remember all this good stuff as I’m drifting off to lala land and still be married in the morning?  Google Keep.  I love the simplicity of it.  I have an evernote account, but its just too bulky.

What does that have to do with my marriage, you ask?  My Lovely Bride puts up with some weird stuff from me, but I think I’d have a permanent spot on the sofa if I turned on a light at 2am every night and started scribbling in a notebook…

Quick Fantasy Novel update?  The junk draft is complete and I am working on the first rewrite trying to fill in plot holes and get storylines to gel.  Early feedback is positive (whew!).

In other writing news: a rescue dog I was blogging for – but had never met – got adopted.  I’m pushing all my skills to the limit for 2 more.  Hopefully it pays off for them in the form of great Forever Families!

Love the visual! Oh, and of course the familiar just-when-you’re -almost-asleep thoughts.
